LEARN — A RETREAT TO CREATE AND EXPLORE
Palm Springs learning
November 18th — 20th, 2019
Guys it’s been a long year. Let’s go out to the desert and SATE in Palm Springs.
In case you’re thinking ‘I’m already going to be in Palm Springs, I might as well check out Joshua Tree,’ then you’re thinking what we’re thinking.
We’ll be heading to Joshua Tree for some extra adventure and relaxation, the 20th through the 22nd. You should join us.
Our Palm Springs Learning is limited to an intimate gathering of photographers, stylists, florists, and other artists. Our Joshua Tree Add-on Retreat group size is limited to 10.
Who’s Running the Show —
Photographer Meghan Kay Sadler uses her background in design and studio art to influence her photography. Based in California, she can be found working on portraits, travel, editorial and most anything of interest. You can find her website here.
Art director and stylist based on the west coast. After finishing a degree in Graphic Design, Kaela began working as a designer in both print and digital realms before moving into editorial work. Her primary focus is on overseeing all of the creative elements that go into brand and campaign imagery — with the hope of allowing others to find beauty in the details. You can find her website here.
Studio Mondine is a floral design studio based in foggy San Francisco, California. We seek to balance the lushness of English garden arrangements with the precision of Japanese ikebana in our work.
We look to nature and the changing of the seasons to inform our designs. It's with feverish enthusiasm that we seek out the rarest ingredients, working directly with the finest flower farmers in the nation or cultivating these special blooms ourselves in our small cutting garden. You can find their website here.
Where we’re staying —
Korakia Pensione, Palm Springs
Monday, November 18 - Wednesday, November 20
Hi Desert Ranch, Yucca Valley
Wednesday, November 20 - Friday, November 22
Korakia Pensione sits on 1.5 lush acres, consisting of bungalows, guesthouses, gardens and pools. With citrus blossoms, olive trees, oleander bushes, date palms, bougainvillea vines, gorgeous Moroccan fountains and a stone waterfall spread across the main courtyard area, every aspect of the villas have been restored to the artistic ambiance of their halcyon days. Dramatic photo spreads of Korakia have graced the pages of such leading publications as Architectural Digest, HIP Hotels and Condé Nast Traveler as well as Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire and their European counterparts. You can find their Instagram here.
Set atop its own Joshua Tree-filled valley, the Hi Desert Ranch — Private Micro Resort offers complete seclusion behind its courtyard walls, and wide-open expanses beyond. Wandering the 10-acre grounds, you’ll discover the ranch’s reclaimed redwood swimming pool, two hot tub, a giant swing set, and cozy lounge areas. Inside the buildings, custom furniture, mid-century pieces, and original art adds panache. You can find their Instagram here.
