6pm - MK, Kaela, & Amanda will collaborate to style and shoot a charcuterie & crudité table. Stealing bites of cheese as they work is encouraged :)

Day 2 - Tuesday (11.19)
Today is all about creating & being inspired. You’ll buddy up to plan, style and arrange a shoot as a team. You’ll have free rein of Korakia and the greater Palm Springs area to conceptualize and execute your project. Feel free to grab breakfast & lunch at Korakia whenever you’d like - it’s on us. We’ll have lots of learning & activities for you to build the perfect day.

San Andreas Fault Biking: Riders are treated to a geologic extravaganza on this 20 mile tour that descends through the heart of the San Andreas Fault zone on a paved road to the heart of grape country near Mecca. There are no cross roads, no turns, and very little traffic which makes this a relaxing sightseeing adventure. Riders will see the stark beauty of the desert as they descend a total of 1600 feet over the route. The tour finishes with a visit to the Oasis Date Gardens for a date shake and restroom break.
Mid-century Architecture Tour: See what makes the Palm Springs the mecca for mid-century modern architecture lead by local designer and modernist, Kurt Cyr. We’ll see architecture by William Cody, Albert Frey, Hugh Kaptur, Wiliam Krisel, Donald Wexler and E. Stewart Williams.
Indian Canyons Hiking: Indian Canyons is the ancestral home of the local Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. We will take an moderate and scenic hike that includes several stream crossings, incredible rock formations, possible wildlife sightings, a canopy of native palm trees, and stark desert canyon scenery.
Exploring Palm Spring: Feel free to explore Palm Springs whenever you’d like. There’s so much inspiration to find in nearby shops, museums and botanical gardens. If you don’t have a car, there is plenty walking distance and Korakia has 6 bikes available to borrow as well.

Sound Bath + Interpretive Watercolors:
50-minute custom massage: Heal the mind, body and spirit with a massage treatment at Korakia’s indoor/outdoor spa lodge. Relieve pain and tension or just relax and drift away. Choose one of two signature scents: Turquoise Mountain Sage or Tree of Life. Tip not included.
Papel Picado Crafting w/ Yreina: Papel picado is a traditional style of paper-cutting from Mexico. It originated centuries ago, when families would hang hand-cut paper on altars as a prayer offering. Yreina will show you the basics of designing and creating your own papel picado creations.
Handcrafted Incense Making w/ Emily: We will use natural resins such as frankincense, copal, and amber in combination with plants and flowers to create incense cones.

7pm - Dinner at Azucar. The restaurant is located here, about 5 minutes walking from Korakia Pensione. We’ll request your dinner selection a few days before arrival. A glass of champagne and one cocktail/mocktail is included, feel free to order additional drinks at the bar on a separate tab.
Following dinner you can continue socializing at the bar, venture out into Palm Springs, or return to Korakia to relax. Note that quiet hours at Korakia begin at 10pm.
Day 3 - Wednesday (11.20)
This morning you’ll have time to schedule a massage, your 1:1 session, or continue creating

Day 3 (continued) — Wednesday (11.20)
After goodbyes in Palm Springs, we’ll take a scenic drive through Joshua Tree, stopping along the way for short hikes and photo ops. We’ll have a packed lunch and plenty of snacks to fuel ourselves.
Harvest Soup and Chili Trio with Cornbread Muffins

- Curried butternut squash soup
Mixed green salad with a cilantro-jalapeno dressing.

In the evening we’ll enjoy a picnic dinner at Cap Rock in Joshua Tree followed by a guided stargazing experience. We’ll be able to relax in our own mini outdoor living room, complete with chairs, blankets, and giant outdoor pillows and gaze upwards. Please be sure to have warm clothes, nighttime temperatures will likely be in the 40s. We recommend thick socks and warm shoes/boots, layers, a sweater, jacket, scarf, hat, and gloves.
Once we’ve had our fill of exploring the cosmos, we’ll head to our home in Joshua Tree, Hi Desert Ranch.
Day 4 — Thursday (11.21)
Enjoy a homemade breakfast and lots of coffee.
In the morning you have some options —
If you’re craving adventure: ROCK CLIMBING! Beginners welcome, we’ll take care of all equipment and an expert guide.
If you need more wellness: Experience a sound bath at Integratron — This is an unforgettable sound experience for those who seek deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and introspection. After you’ll have time for relaxing or shopping.
In the afternoon we’ll do an immersive workshop at Yucca Valley Material Lab focused on natural dyeing with wild desert plants. We’ll learn how to process raw plant matter into natural dyes and introductory fabric dying techniques, discuss sustainable harvesting, eco-friendly mordanting processes and how to work with both animal and plant fibers.
7pm - Dinner at Pappy & Harriets
Day 5 — Friday (11.22)
The morning will be free to relax, squeeze in another hike, or go for a swim. We’ll have a nice brunch before departing and heading our separate ways. If needed, transportation back to Palm Springs will be provided.
Tunes to Get In the Mood
In November you should expect temperature during the days reaching the mid-70s, with temperatures rapidly dropping to the high 40s/low 50s at night. In true dessert fashion, rain is not likely.
You’ll be making your own way to Korakia Pensione, Palm Springs. We recommend flying into Palm Springs International Airport - Korakia is just a 10 minute drive away. If you prefer to drive, Palm Springs is approximately 2 hrs by car from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Click here for the exact location.
